Indian festive clothing at its best

Hedwig and Robert Samuel Foundation

The colorful results presented by this year’s graduates in „Dress Designing and Quality Control“ of our New Delhi Centre for Technical Education as their final projects, were a real blast: a total of 204 modern and traditional Indian festive gowns – richly decorated and with elaborate stitchings – supplemented by a range of modern western outfits. In weeks of work, our students designed and sewed the robes themselves with a great deal of imagination and brilliant craftsmanship, applying the skills they had acquired in the past twelve months.

The foundation rewarded this commitment with a professional photo shoot, in which the graduates presented their creations themselves with great joy and a wonderful sense of self-confidence. These “little works of art” make us really proud. Come and enjoy with us the impressive photos of our young professionals.

Every year, the Samuel Foundation trains 108 young women and men from economically weak backgrounds in „Dress Designing and Quality Control“ at two locations in the Indian capital of New Delhi. A qualified vocational training opens up new opportunities in the important Indian garment industry and gives them completely new perspectives for their future lives.
