“Cleanliness Drive” at Pediatric Ward

Hedwig and Robert Samuel Foundation

On Dec 09, 2017, our students (around 55) helped the Hospital administration in cleaning the Pediatric and Thalassemia Ward of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital which is the largest State Government Hospital in West Delhi. The Ward generally housing around 30 kids (mostly fully occupied) was unhygienic and very dull looking. Recovery from critical diseases in such a place can be very challenging for the small kids. Our students made a walk-through the Ward and its surroundings to assess areas requiring cleaning and places within the Ward that could be improved or face-lifted.   Our team cleaned each and every corner of the Ward including the approach corridor, air conditioners and fans to improve the overall experience for the kids. Students offered paper crafts (cartoons/ flowers) to the kids in Ward. We decorated the Ward with hand crafted colorful cartoons to improve the ambiance inside the Ward. Our students received applause from every kid in the Ward and the Hospital Administration were very pleased to see the efforts. The kids expressed their happiness on the more lively spaces in and around the Ward.
