The way we work

Our demand for quality regarding the performance of the students we train is very high, as is the demand we put on our own performance. This includes, above all, the careful use of the means we have at our disposal. The Foundation's administrative section has been reduced to a minimum. The administrative expenses are covered by the Foundation's own capital. All available means go into the projects directly. Thus, in Germany, the whole Foundation is controlled by only 5 full-time employees. Apart from the work of the managing director, the managing board works voluntarily.

The Samuel Foundation is an operationally active foundation. This means that we use our funds for carrying out our own relief projects. In this way, we can guarantee that our means flow directly into those projects which correspond to our targets, promotional and quality requirements. All other projects, which we additionally support financially, logistically and idealistically, are checked according to their effectiveness and longevity.

When carrying out the projects we rely on partners and co-workers in the respective region. The project managers and trainers are recruited in the respective country. In this way, we reduce the risk of losing energy through intercultural differences and increase the acceptance of the projects with the relevant groups in that particular society. The Foundation's German office supervises and controls the projects in close cooperation with the regional country directors.

Checking on the success of all projects plays a significant role: e.g. we continually check the number of graduates who were able to find employment. In addition, we measure the allocation of our means in terms of administration, expenses and investments year for year.
