The Samuel Foundation in Cuba
The Samuel Foundation in Cuba is not represented by its own training centre, this is because Cuban law makes it only possible for the state to be involved in the area of training. This is the reason why the Foundation has restricted itself to acting as a foreign aid agent for supporting the Cuban training facilities. Since 2001, we have supported our present aid project "Escuela de oficios Hermanos Ameijeiras" in theour present aid project "Escuela de oficios Hermanos Ameijeiras" in the
centre of Havana. The training centre trains up to 240 craftsman students each year, who are recruited from the socially deprived neighbouring parts of the city. In the past few years, a wealth of projects have been completed with thanks to the help of the Samuel Foundation.
