One of the most anticipated appointments in the Samuel calendar is its yearly Country Directors’ Meeting (CDM) at the foundation’s headquarters in Düsseldorf. In late September, our international colleagues from Nicaragua, Costa Rica and India received a warm welcome and joined the German team and the foundation’s board members to discuss relevant topics about the training centres in the three countries. In the focus of the meeting were, as always, the economically disadvantaged young people.
The Samuel team is constantly looking for opportunities to offer sustainable possibilities for young people and this is why potential new projects and future areas of activities were also a big topic at the CDM this year. „The fact that our work enables young people to have a successful professional future makes me really proud”, says Neha Tewari, the Indian Country Director, „and we are constantly finding new opportunities to help.”
For sure, the coming year will be yet another Samuel year full of new developments and challenges – and everybody is looking forward to seeing each other again next autumn.
