The Samuel Foundation was created in the German city of Duesseldorf in the year 1932. All project work of the Foundation is supervised and coordinated from there. The Foundation’s office is still located in the Hohenzollernhaus on the city’s renowned boulevard Königsallee, the same building that was originally designated as the capital asset of the Samuel Foundation.
In addition to coordinating all project activities abroad, the German head office also supports local projects: The Samuel Foundation is a co-founder of a specialized institution for children who have suffered from violence called KiD. With Café Eden, the Foundation initiated a successful project with the theatre of Duesseldorf in 2017 to better integrate young refugees into local society. This cooperation and commitment still live on today thanks to “Germany. A Winter’s Tale”, an intercultural theatre piece.
